Wendy Jones most recently performed First Lady in The Magic Flute and Clorinda in the educational tour of Cinderella with the Palm Beach Opera. Other recent opera performances include Micaela in The Tragedy of Carmen with the Indianapolis Opera Outreach Program and Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera with the Austrian American Mozart Academy in Salzburg. Ms. Jones has also performed Agathe in Der Freischütz with Komische-Kammer-Oper-München, the Stepdaughter in Six Characters in Search of an Author, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Anna Maurrant in Street Scene, Countess Almaviva in La Nozze di Figaro, and Lady Billows in Albert Herring. In addition to third place in the 2005 Palm Beach Atlantic National Vocal Competition and first place in the 2004 Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition for Colorado Singers, Ms. Jones has been a district winner and received an honorable mention at the regional level in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. A native of Denver, she received her B.M. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her M.M. from the University of Illinois. Ms. Jones is a student of Virginia Zeani. |
